Conference Background

The International Rail Freight Conference (IRFC) 2009 is one of a series of annual conferences organized by JERID together with significant partners of the railway industry. IRFC has become an important event in the international railway sector calendar and in 2009 will be hosted again in Prague, Czech Republic.
IRFC 2009 will build on the success of the previous conference IRFC 2008, with national and international speakers analyzing the increasingly important role of rail in modern transport systems. During three days in March 2008, Prague hosted 27 speakers from 12 countries and 140 delegates from 24 countries (see more www.2008.irfc.eu).
The focus of IRFC 2009 will highlight the successful role of rail within integrated transport systems in both European and Asian contexts. The goal of the conference is to provide an opportunity for exchange of information on experience in railway freight transport technology and to encourage international co-operation in this field.
This conference will bring together practical experience from railway undertakings, transport operators, railway system suppliers, rail forwarders and custom agencies. Over 200 managers and railway experts from Europe and Asia are expected to this conference. Organizers expect speakers, exhibitors and participants from the west and east European countries as well as from Asia: Russia, Kazakhstan and China (railway administrations, railway cargo companies, ministries of transport, customs authorities, forwarding companies, rail customers etc).
We look forward to welcoming you to IRFC 2009 in Prague.
